Conveniently located in downtown San Antonio, the 65,000-seat Alamodome was completed in May 1993 and through the support of local citizens, it opened debt-free and is owned and operated by the City of San Antonio and its Convention, Sports and Entertainment Facilities department. The Alamodome, just a short 10-minute walk to the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, approximately 10,000 downtown hotel rooms and the world-renowned River Walk, is a “3rd Generation” facility with a 40,000+ seat arena configuration. It features the very latest in dome architecture and engineering technology, with column-free spans for unobstructed viewing and a curtain wall system for configuration flexibility.

The Alamodome continues to be a vital part of San Antonio’s tourism and entertainment industries. Since the move of the Spurs in 2002, the Alamodome has remained an active facility hosting more than 100 events per year. For over 10 years, the Alamodome has been the site of numerous NCAA® Championships including regional basketball tournaments, Men’s and Women’s Final Fours® and a Women’s Volleyball Championship.
